Sudden Airbag Warning in Volkswagen Car
My Volkswagen suddenly displayed an 'airbag error' warning for no apparent reason. Upon inspection at Sakarya Otokur service on February 22, 2024, I was informed by the customer representative, Mr. E***, that the airbag kit needed replacement due to a malfunction. Despite my vehicle's warranty expiration, they offered to replace the part for around ₺13,000 if I agreed to periodic maintenance, stating the part's usual cost is around ₺23,000. When I requested a free replacement due to the recent maintenance and the part's unforeseen failure, they warned of a potential ₺25,000 charge if maintenance wasn't performed. Fearing for my safety without functioning airbags, I reluctantly agreed to the maintenance and kit replacement. This situation has left me feeling deeply aggrieved by Sakarya Service Center's practices, and I seek redress for this unjust situation. If not resolved satisfactorily, I will pursue legal action upon receiving my vehicle.
