I purchased a vehicle with plate number 34 *** 174 and chassis number wvgzzz5nzmw508840 on June 8, 2022, with the manufacturer's warranty still in effect and approximately 40,000 km on the odometer. Since then, I have diligently maintained the vehicle through regular servicing at your authorized service centers. However, on May 27, 2024, the automatic transmission (DSG gearbox) of my vehicle malfunctioned. I have attached the cost estimate provided by the authorized service center. As you can see, 70% of the expenses listed in this estimate are related to routine maintenance tasks. Furthermore, there was no indication of any issues with the DSG transmission during the previous or recent servicing of my vehicle. With my vehicle only at 61,000 km and being 4 years old, I have the following questions for you: 1- While routine maintenance costs around ₺2,000-₺3,000 at local garages, I have consistently serviced my vehicle at Volkswagen authorized service centers. At no point during these services was I informed of any transmission faults. 2- Considering the vehicle prices and our national income, is it reasonable and ethical for Volkswagen, a brand known for selling mid-to-upper segment vehicles, to quote a repair cost of ₺40,000 for the transmission of a vehicle like mine, which is only 3.5 years old and has covered 61,000 km, without offering any warranty coverage? 3- There is a known production flaw in DSG transmissions. Therefore, I request that my vehicle be repaired free of charge. 4- I have never subjected my vehicle to excessive strain, and as the name suggests, the automatic transmission is a mechanism that operates without my direct involvement. If my request is not accepted, I demand a detailed technical report from your side explaining why the automatic transmission failed at 61,000 km.
