2024 Skoda Scala Transmission Failure After 4 Months
I purchased a brand-new 2024 Skoda Scala Premium 1.0 TSI 115 PS DSG on 28/05/2024. On 25/09/2024, at just 4,029 km, the car showed a transmission error when I started it. I contacted Skoda roadside assistance, and the vehicle was towed to an authorized service center. They diagnosed a mechatronic failure, requiring a complete DSG transmission replacement. I was shocked that such a serious issue occurred in a 4-month-old car. The service staff said they didn’t expect this and couldn’t explain why it happened. They mentioned waiting for parts from abroad, with no clear repair timeline. I believe the car may have been faulty from the production stage.
When I mentioned my right to a replacement as per the warranty, they brushed it off, saying the warranty only covers repairs. Skoda’s headquarters later responded, stating they wouldn’t replace the car and would only proceed with repairs, despite my legal right to choose between repair or replacement for defective products. They even ignored my formal notice. This process has been poorly managed, and I am deeply disappointed. I will not be purchasing a Skoda vehicle again. I demand a replacement as per consumer protection laws.
