I purchased a brand-new 2023 Fiat Egea, a 2022 model, and on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 35,926 km, I experienced a gear shift problem. The vehicle is still under warranty. After calling customer service, a tow truck was sent, and around 12:30 PM, my car was taken to the service center. However, since the service was closed at that time, they informed me they would check the vehicle on Monday.
On Monday, I was told that the clutch and pressure plate needed to be replaced, but this would not be covered under warranty, and the cost would be ₺16,200. How is it possible that a car with only 35,926 km, mostly driven on highways, already needs clutch and pressure plate replacement? At this mileage, it’s unlikely to be a user error. From the day I bought the car, I’ve noticed issues, especially when shifting into reverse. During the 10,000 km service, I mentioned this to the service technician, but they dismissed it, saying there was no issue and that I should wait for the car to warm up. The problem persisted, and I often had to try multiple times to engage in reverse gear.
Furthermore, during the second service on August 31, 2024, why didn’t they notice this problem again? This should be covered under warranty. I bought a new car specifically to avoid these kinds of issues, but it seems I made a mistake by choosing Fiat. I urgently request that this problem be resolved under warranty.
