I am facing an unresolved issue with Volkswagen Ark Oto. During a previous service, I was advised by the authorized service center that my car battery needed replacement, but I decided not to change it at that time. A few months later, the battery started showing problems, so I bought and installed a new battery from an external supplier. However, I was unaware that the battery needed to be coded to the vehicle.
When I found out about this, I called the authorized service center, Ark Oto, and explained that my wife is due to give birth soon and I urgently need the car, which now requires the battery to be coded. I mentioned that the battery installed in my car is the same brand and specifications as the original one, a Varta battery. However, the service center refused to code it because it wasn’t purchased directly from them, insisting that I buy a new battery from them instead.
I have been a loyal customer of this service for 2 years, and I am extremely disappointed by this experience and the money I have spent. It's worth noting that Volkswagen does not manufacture batteries; they only supply them as part of their vehicle parts. The battery I installed is identical in brand, model, and specifications to the original one. I am considering taking legal action over this matter. My dissatisfaction extends to the overall issues with the Volkswagen Group, DGS transmissions, warranty problems, and the recurring issues I've faced during vehicle maintenance, all of which are increasingly frustrating, and I am now considering selling my car.
