I purchased a Vestfrost refrigerator 3 years ago as a second fridge for my home, and it was used very lightly. Despite this minimal usage, it suddenly broke down last week. I called the authorized service, and they diagnosed the problem as a compressor failure. Shockingly, they quoted me a repair cost of around ₺10,000 for this major fault.
I clearly stated that such a critical failure should not occur in such a short time, even if the warranty period has expired. However, the response I received via email was highly disappointing: they claimed that “unexpected failures can sometimes happen” and that they would start repairs only if I agreed to pay the full amount. On top of this, I already paid ₺600 as a service fee for the initial inspection.
It feels like the product is designed to work only until the warranty expires, and then customers are charged nearly the price of a new refrigerator for essential repairs. This experience has left me feeling financially burdened and emotionally frustrated, as I trusted Vestfrost for product quality and durability.
I request that Vestfrost cover the cost of the compressor replacement or offer a significant discount, as this is an unreasonable failure for a lightly used product. Please take responsibility for the product’s premature failure and resolve this issue fairly and promptly.
