Umingle Wrongly Banned Me for Gender Searching During a Normal Chat
On July 9th, 2026, at approximately 11:25 a.m. EST my Umingle account was banned with the stated reason “Gender searching.” This ban surprised me because, at the time, I was simply having a normal conversation and was not violating any rules to my knowledge. Just before the ban, I was connected with a stranger from Australia. I introduced myself by saying “Hi, I’m Chris” and she replied “Hi, I’m Destiny.” We briefly asked each other how we were and what we were up to, and shortly after that I was suddenly banned. There was no other behavior, request, or message from my side that could reasonably be interpreted as “gender searching.” I have not spent any money on Umingle, but I still expect fair treatment and a clear, justified application of the platform’s rules. There is no direct customer support channel to appeal this decision, and the only recommendation given is to try contacting the platform via social media, which is not an adequate solution for a ban that appears to be an error. I kindly request that my account be reviewed and that the ban be lifted, as I believe it was applied mistakenly based on the brief and harmless interaction described above. I also ask for a clear explanation of how my behavior was interpreted as “gender searching” so that I can avoid any misunderstandings in the future.
