Uber With Plate Number 34TKN4* in Istanbul Turkey Charged Extra 220$

I, Mubınakhon Khusa*****, reached out to Uber for a ride using my friend Garry Pal***'s phone. We needed a ride for a distance of 4.5 km from Adahan Decamondo Hotel in Şişli District, Istanbul, to Cerrahpaşa Fatih, Istanbul, Turkey. To my dismay, the driver named Hakan, operating a Ford Tourneo Custom with license plate number 34TKN45, claimed to have issues with Uber Pay. He insisted on cash or card payment. I chose the latter and paid with my card, only to be charged a staggering 238 USD instead of the expected 18 USD. Shockingly, he refused to provide a receipt and left me feeling humiliated and trapped. I suspect the driver targeted me deliberately, taking advantage of the situation. He likely noticed another person ordering an Uber for a woman, seized the opportunity and promptly canceled the ride on the app. Cornered and fearful, I had no option but to let him charge my card for only 18 USD. He even halted the car abruptly in the middle of the road, causing honking and chaos, forcing me to rush and input the code. This experience has left me deeply frustrated, as Uber is a service we expect to provide safety and convenience. I earnestly call on Uber to address this issue promptly, refund my excess payment, and tighten their protocols to prevent scams and misconduct. Users like myself should not have to endure such distressing situations when we seek a comfortable and secure ride.
