Uber Taxi in Istanbul Overcharged Despite Discount Shown in App
On September 28, 2025, I used Uber Taxi service in Istanbul. Before the ride, a 40% discount was applied in the app, and the estimated fare was shown as between ₺300–₺350. However, at the end of the ride, the screen in the taxi displayed ₺505, and the driver demanded ₺575. On top of that, the service fee—which was already included in the total price—was added separately again.
I paid through the Uber app using my registered bank card, and the inflated amount entered by the driver was charged to my account. The taxi plate number was 34TCE57. I tried to get help through the app regarding the incorrect charges, but I couldn’t find any support option to resolve this issue.
I request that the correct discounted fare be applied and that the excess amount charged be refunded to me. I also ask that the necessary measures be taken to prevent this from happening again.
