Uber Tried to Charge My Card $176 and $175 After a Single Ride

On June 10, 2026, at around 4:11 PM, I requested an Uber ride from Yunus Emre Neighborhood to Maslak 1453. Before the trip, the app displayed an estimated fare range of $16–$21, and $16 was charged to my card before the driver even arrived.
After the ride ended and I got out of the vehicle at Maslak 1453, I noticed that my card was hit with attempted charges of first $158, and then $175. While these transactions appear to have failed, the fact that the system attempted to pull such enormous amounts from my card left me deeply alarmed and feeling genuinely wronged.
I reported the situation to Uber customer service through the app but received no response whatsoever. Due to the serious trust issues this created, I was forced to completely cancel my card.
I am requesting that Uber fully void all attempted charges beyond the original $16 fare, provide a clear written explanation of what caused these transactions, and take responsibility for the harm this situation caused me.
