Uber Keeps Overcharging Me for Istanbul Airport Rides
On June 10, 2026, I booked an Uber ride through the app for 7:00 PM, from Florya Avenue in Bakırköy, Istanbul, to Istanbul Airport. However, the reservation changed on its own — it was processed as an entirely different trip covering only a 3-minute distance with no connection to the airport whatsoever — and $8 was charged to my account for this altered trip. Since this happened completely without my knowledge or consent, I consider it an unauthorized charge.
I have experienced something similar before. After another reservation I made to Istanbul Airport, a second charge of approximately $14 was taken from my account on top of the original fare. In other words, Uber has made unauthorized additional charges to my account on two separate occasions.
I am unable to find any customer service or live support option within the app or through any other channel to report this issue, which is why I am filing this complaint here instead. I am requesting a full refund of the $8 unauthorized charge from June 10, 2026, as well as the approximately $14 additional charge that was taken after my previous Istanbul Airport reservation. I also ask that both incidents be thoroughly investigated and that Uber take the necessary steps to ensure no further unauthorized charges are made to my account.
