I’ve been a loyal Uber user for years, but recent experiences have left me completely frustrated and disappointed. Lately, I’ve noticed that Uber takes a pre-authorization hold before a ride and then charges the full fare after the ride ends—while only sometimes returning the held amount. While I initially accepted this policy, my ride on March 25 pushed me over the edge.
For that ride, Uber charged the exact fare of ₺217.60, as shown on the meter, but also charged an additional ₺58.21 without explanation. I didn’t make a fuss at the time. However, on March 28, they withdrew yet another ₺58.35—this time for a ride I never even took. When I reached out to Uber Help, they claimed the charge was an adjustment for the March 25 ride, saying an "amount was missing."
That makes no sense. I clearly explained that not only was the full fare already paid, but that a second charge was made. They simply replied that they “can’t assist further.” How is that even acceptable?
I’ve now closed my Uber account. This is blatant exploitation. I am demanding a full refund for both unauthorized ₺58 charges. Uber must stop withdrawing money without consent. What’s the point of using a service that penalizes loyal customers and offers no real support?
