Turkish Airlines Refund Policy Issue for One-Way Ticket
I purchased a one-way ticket from Turkish Airlines (THY) for Friday, August 25th. Later, due to circumstances beyond my control, I requested a refund. The email I received stated that I would incur a ₺250 penalty if I canceled the flight.
However, when I called customer service, a representative named Hande informed me that for my flight, for which I paid ₺3635, the refund amount would be around ₺3100. She mentioned that the deduction would be around ₺375. Additionally, I was told that I would need to pay an extra cancellation fee of around ₺500-₺600.
This information was not mentioned in the email I received, which only stated a ₺250 penalty for the cancellation. Despite informing her of the email details, she said that the pricing on their screen was different and updated.
I am now wondering what kind of approach this is. As a consumer, I am only responsible for the pricing communicated to me via email, not more than that. This is beyond comprehension. Rest assured, I will seek what is rightfully mine.
As a result of the mistake made, I ended up making a reservation twice. I would like to thank Ms. Elif and Mr. Zafer for helping me with the duplicate situation. Thanks to them, we will have a peaceful vacation. I am grateful... 🙏😌
