Issue with Turkish Airlines Airport Lounge Access and Fees
I am a THY Classic Plus member. According to THY's website, Classic Plus members are entitled to free lounge access for domestic flights. Trusting this information, I arrived at the Sabiha Gokcen THY CIP lounge at 17:15 for my 18:05 flight from Sabiha Gokcen to Ankara on December 15. After checking in my luggage, I was charged ₺585. Given the time, I had no choice but to pay, as trying to go to the regular entrance would have meant missing my flight. The CIP building at Sabiha Gokcen Airport is quite far from the main entrance, causing significant inconvenience. The website does not specify any airport distinctions or details, and I request a refund for this issue. I will file my complaint through all available channels and also appeal to the Consumer Arbitration Committee. It is unacceptable to cause such inconvenience with incomplete information. I had a previous negative experience but did not take it seriously. However, this incident shows that being large and having a monopoly leads to a 'we do as we please' attitude. As someone who has flown approximately 200 times in the past 2 years, flying twice a week, I usually use Istanbul Airport. This was my first lounge experience at Sabiha Gokcen. The issue is not the ₺585, but your misleading practices. I will continue to share this misleading practice everywhere until it is resolved.
