Turkcell Drained 12 GB of My Data in 1 Hour and Blamed It on iCloud Backup

On February 12, 2025, at 07:46, I purchased a 10 GB additional internet package, which was my second extra package purchase in February. At the same time, a 2 GB free YouTube.com package was also added. However, by 09:16, the 10 GB additional internet was already depleted, and 3.6 GB had been consumed from the free 2 GB YouTube package. Despite only watching three music videos and browsing a couple of news pages, a total of 12 GB had been used. Upon further review, Turkcell surprisingly claimed that the data consumption was due to an iCloud backup. However, Apple remotely accessed my phone and confirmed that the last backup was on February 11, 2025. Additionally, no backup was found on iCloud or Google Photos (as my Google storage is full and cannot perform backups).

After this experience, I have decided to cancel all my lines. I no longer recommend Turkcell for my home, workplace, phones, or to anyone around me. All supporting documents are attached. I wonder what kind of explanation will be given. In 2024, the system consumed 20 GB of internet for one hour of navigation usage, but how did it manage to consume 12 GB within an hour in 2025?

It's like using social media for the first time and saying turn off the automatic media player; a more ridiculous suggestion couldn't be made. How can an app, video, or social media consume 10 GB of internet in 1 hour during a contract period where 20 GB of internet per month is enough, and how can a monthly 52 GB of internet run out, resulting in a bill of 1,650 lira? I am the person who purchased the additional packages. While a 90-minute football match consumes a maximum of 5 GB of internet, how can a video consume 3,600 MB at 07:47 in the morning and then 3,400 MB, using up 10 GB of internet? The previous explanation seemed to suggest that I am an unconscious consumer, claiming that iCloud and Google Photos backups were made, for which you could not provide an answer, and it was attempted to blame Apple and Google companies. It was determined with remote assistance from Apple support that there was no backup and that backups were made over Wi-Fi. We do not collect money on the street very clearly; I have no intention of letting a company that does not support its customer, who cannot provide an answer, eat up our hard-earned money. Goodbye Turkcell; myself, my spouse, my children, my home internet, my business internet, my company line, my business internet. Welcome Vodafone.
