Trip.com Took My Change Fee but Never Updated My Flight

I experienced a serious issue with a flight ticket I purchased through Trip.com. Due to a health-related situation, I needed to change my flight date and initiated the process online through Trip.com.

At first, the change request appeared to be approved, and I was charged the required fare difference for the new flight. Based on this, I believed the modification process had been successfully completed. However, after collecting the additional payment, the approval process was unexpectedly delayed and remained unresolved.

Over the next three to four days, I exchanged multiple messages with customer service and attempted to get assistance regarding the status of my ticket change. Unfortunately, I received no meaningful help, clear explanation, or practical solution. Instead of finalizing the change that had already been approved and paid for, I was eventually told that I would need to purchase an entirely new reservation and pay the full cost of a new ticket.

What made the situation even more frustrating was that I was also informed that my original ticket would not be refunded. In addition, the fare difference I had already paid for the approved ticket change was not returned to me either. As a result, I was left in a situation where I was expected to purchase a completely new ticket while losing both my original ticket payment and the additional change fee I had already paid.

I believe this process was handled unfairly and without proper customer support. After spending days trying to resolve the issue, I received no reasonable accommodation despite the fact that the change request was initially accepted and payment was collected.

I am requesting a full review of my case, including the refund of the additional change fee I paid and appropriate compensation or reimbursement for the unresolved ticket change. I also ask Trip.com to provide a clear explanation regarding why a change request that was initially approved and paid for was later abandoned.

Based on this experience, my confidence in Trip.com has been seriously damaged, and unless this issue is resolved fairly, I do not intend to use the platform again.
