Kuwait Airways Cancels Flight but Trip.com Issues Partial Refund Only

March 16 12:41 PM28

I purchased a ticket for my Istanbul–Dubai flight (departing March 19 and returning March 24) with Kuwait Airways, flights KU158 and KU675. Due to the war, Kuwait Airways canceled its flights until March 30. Despite this being a force majeure situation entirely beyond my control, I did not receive a full refund of my ticket.

For the ticket, which cost approximately $2,031, I was refunded only $1,281, and a deduction of $750 was applied. I made the purchase on March 13 through Trip.com. Since the cancellation was initiated by the airline and qualifies as force majeure, I do not accept this deduction.

I request that Trip.com refund the full $750 that was deducted from my ticket price and provide a clear written explanation of the reasoning and calculation behind this deduction.
