I paid for a vacation rental through TripAdvisor, but upon arrival, I discovered it was not as advertised. What steps should I follow to request a refund?

Upon arrival, if your TripAdvisor vacation rental doesn't match the advertised description, you can request a refund:
• Check if your issue qualifies for a refund. If the rental is inaccessible at check-in or significantly different from its advertised description, TripAdvisor's Payment Protection will refund you.
• Collect documents: Support your claim with evidence. Photos, videos, or other documentation showing the rental's material differences or defects from the advertised offer are examples.
• Once you find the problem, contact TripAdvisor to get a refund. Call 1-855-785-9714 on the first day of rental. Describe the situation and include your booking information.
• Take TripAdvisor's Advice: Comply with TripAdvisor's customer support instructions. Next steps in the claims process will be explained.
• Follow Payment Protection Terms: Make sure you paid online with TripAdvisor's credit/debit card or PayPal, not by bank transfer. Payment Protection covers the deposit and balance if paid in two installments.
• Refunds must be requested by the original booker.
• Only rentals with the Payment Protection logo are eligible for Payment Protection.
