Trendyol Sold Me a Defective Cabinet That Fell Apart

On July 15, 2025, I purchased a bathroom laundry cabinet from a seller named Mobetto via Trendyol. From the moment the product was delivered, it had visible defects: the legs were unstable and the laundry bin section kept detaching from its place. My husband tried to temporarily fix the leg problem. To avoid the hassle of a return process, I decided to use adhesive as a temporary fix for the bin section. I was willing to use the product this way just to avoid the return process — but eventually, the product became completely unusable. On the night of August 3, 2025, while placing folded towels inside, I opened the cabinet door and it suddenly broke off into my hand. The cabinet completely collapsed. The fact that a piece of furniture fell apart in such a short time clearly indicates a manufacturing defect and classifies the item as a defective product. Despite this, when I contacted the seller, they claimed it was a “user error.” However, the interventions I made did not damage the product’s main structure; they were just attempts to deal with the existing defect. This situation proves that the product was poorly manufactured from the start. All the cabinets in my home have doors — none of them have ever collapsed like this. Can a piece of furniture really fall apart in just 20 days? This one did — it literally turned into trash. How can this be blamed on me? I just opened the cabinet, and the door fell off in my hand. It could have fallen on my 2-year-old daughter’s head. Instead of taking responsibility for a faulty product, the seller is trying to blame the customer — which is unacceptable. My Request: According to the Turkish Consumer Protection Law (Law No. 6502), this product clearly qualifies as a defective good. I am requesting a full refund for the product. I also contacted Trendyol Customer Service and explained the situation. However, they refused to take any responsibility, stating that the seller marked the issue as user error. Yet, this product was purchased through Trendyol and under the “Trendyol Guarantee.” According to the same law, Trendyol, as the intermediary service provider, shares responsibility for the product and the customer’s rights.
