Toyota Failed to Update My 2020 Corolla Multimedia System for 2 Years
The multimedia system I purchased as an option for my 2020 Toyota Corolla 1.6 Vision has been malfunctioning continuously for about two years. In addition, since the system’s version is not updated, many applications do not work properly; in particular, the Youtube.com app shows a “version insufficient” warning and does not open. Because of this issue, the device was first sent for free repair, but no improvement was made and the same problems persisted. Most recently, in June 2025, when I reapplied, I was told that since the warranty had expired, no free service could be provided and that the replacement part would cost ₺90,000 at current prices. All these procedures took place at Mıçı Toyota Service. I cannot accept that a lifelong car becomes unusable within just two years because the multimedia system cannot receive updates. My expectation is that, if possible, a software update should be made to the multimedia system to ensure that applications work smoothly. If a software update is not possible, I request that another solution be offered on this matter.
