Tesla Model Y Camera Stolen While Sentry Mode Failed to Record

The camera located on the left fender of my 2025 Tesla Model Y Juniper was stolen between 9:20 PM on Friday, September 4, and 1:00 AM on September 5, at the intersection of Uğur Mumcu Boulevard and Ardıç Street in 7-8-9-10. Kısım Neighborhood, while Sentry Mode was enabled. The security system presented as one of the vehicle’s most important features failed to function in any way during this incident.

Normally, when Sentry Mode is enabled, the vehicle records anyone passing near it. However, it did not record anything before or during the theft, which raises serious concerns about the effectiveness of the vehicle’s security system. In addition, even though someone physically tampered with my vehicle, I received no notification on my phone while Sentry Mode was enabled. A scratch was also left in the area where the camera was removed, apparently caused by an object used during the removal process. Since the vehicle has a protective wrap, I do not yet know how much damage the wrap prevented or concealed.

One of the reasons I chose this vehicle was its advanced security and Sentry Mode features, which were presented as distinguishing it from other electric vehicles. However, if this system does not activate when an incident actually occurs, I have serious concerns about the practical value of relying on it. Therefore, I request that the stolen camera and any resulting damage be repaired free of charge and that Tesla conduct a detailed investigation into why Sentry Mode failed to operate and provide me with a clear explanation. If there is any malfunction or limitation affecting the vehicle’s security system, I also expect the vehicle to clearly and understandably alert the driver to such an issue.
