Free Installation of TCL Air Conditioner Rejected
I recently purchased a wall-mounted air conditioner from TCL via Trendyol. Upon its arrival, I promptly requested installation by calling **** 209 98 25. They directed me to Bakırköy service at **** 415 70 70 for installation. Initially scheduled for Friday, the installation was postponed to Monday due to the technician's illness. Despite having all the necessary preparations at my residence in Küçükçekmece, İstanbul, including an open space for the AC, exposed pipes, and electrical wiring, I was shocked when asked to pay ₺4,000 for concealed installation and welding. This fee is nearly one-third the cost of the air conditioner itself.
In conversations with TCL, I was assured that installation should be free, and no payment was necessary. However, after receiving no response, I was informed that I must pay ₺4,000 for unnecessary services. It's outrageous to be asked for such a fee when the installation site is fully prepared. This situation reeks of incompetence and disregard for the consumer. It's been three weeks, and my AC remains uninstalled. Imagine buying a product with promises of free installation, only to be hit with a ₺4,000 bill. I'm ready to escalate this matter to the Consumer Arbitration Board promptly.
It appears genuine, and there is no area that would cause issues in any installation. In fact, it might be one of the easiest homes to install an air conditioner. The connection point is open, the connection cables are ready, and yet they shamelessly demand an installation fee. It's a shame.
Hello, The issue was brought to the Consumer Arbitration Committee, and of course, considering my justified grievance, they informed me that they would request the invoice from TCL because I had the air conditioner installed by an unauthorized service at a lower cost. We are waiting for the result. Due to my own means, I had to have the air conditioner I bought from TCL installed by an unauthorized service at a much lower cost, with a 3-month delay. It's a shame.
With the decision of the Consumer Arbitration Committee, it was of course decided that the fee should be paid to the consumer (to me). I went to the enforcement office with the documents and initiated proceedings against EPA internet through enforced collection. I will provide an update once it is paid.
