On July 23, 2024, during my flight from Cologne to Konya with a layover in Izmir (PNR: ZADVJY), my luggage was damaged, and one of its legs was broken. Upon arrival at Konya Airport, I immediately reported the issue to the responsible staff, who examined the bag and collected the baggage tag, flight information, and a photocopy of my ID. They assured me that they filed the damage report but also advised that I submit an individual claim through the SunExpress website.
I completed the individual claim online, providing photos of the damaged luggage, the tag, and my personal information. However, I did not receive a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) number at the airport, which the system required. I noted this in my application (Reference No: SUN-09084980). On August 30, 2024, I received an email rejecting my claim, stating that no PIR report was filed at the airport.
I would say that I followed all proper procedures and ask for immediate resolution of my baggage claim. I also would like to have an investigation into the responsible staff and a written response within the legal timeframe, while reserving all my legal rights.
