On 02.08.2024, I purchased a ticket from Sunexpress for a flight scheduled at 08:20. After checking in, I received a late-night email about the delay. The flight was not just delayed once but four times, resulting in a 10-hour delay. The only explanation given was 'operational reasons.' I had opted to receive notifications via SMS, but the information was only sent through email, forcing us to wait at the airport without knowing about the delay. Discussing the appropriateness of such single-channel notifications close to departure time is necessary. According to airport regulations, compensation is provided for flights delayed more than 3 hours. However, the airport rejected this claim without providing a reason. If considering this company, one should think again as people are being inconvenienced. There is also no staff providing a proper explanation.
