Subaru Outback Tire Sensor Fails to Warn About Critical Issue

Subaru Outback Tire Sensor Fails to Warn About Critical Issue
September 24, 2024 6:14 PM17

I own a 2016 Subaru Outback, and recently, I experienced a significant safety issue. While driving home, I noticed something was wrong with the car. Upon stopping to check, I discovered the tire had completely deflated due to a screw that punctured it.

What’s troubling is that the vehicle’s tire pressure sensor only alerts when air pressure drops gradually, but it doesn’t warn of a sudden puncture or blowout. This lack of immediate notification could have led to a serious accident. Thankfully, I caught it in time, but this is a flaw I wouldn’t expect from a brand like Subaru.

After years of trusting Subaru for its safety and reliability, this incident has shaken my confidence. Moving forward, I feel compelled to manually check my tires before every drive, which defeats the purpose of having advanced safety systems. I urge Subaru to address this sensor issue to ensure better safety for all drivers.
