Many people around the world rent cars from Sixt, but their experiences with fees and damage claims are not all the same.
Some customers say they were charged for damage they didn't think they did, and the claims sometimes show up weeks after the customer returns the car.
For instance, a customer in Madrid had to deal with an unfair damage claim even though they returned the car in good condition.
Others have had problems getting their deposits back on time. For example, a renter in Pristina, Kosovo, did not get their €800 deposit back when they were told they would.
To keep yourself safe, check the car carefully before and after renting it, take pictures with the time stamp on them, and make sure that any damage is written down in the rental agreement.
