Sixt Charged Me €2350 Despite Full Insurance at Podgorica Airport

While renting a car from Sixt at Podgorica Airport, the customer representative strongly advised me to get full insurance coverage, assuring me that I wouldn’t face any issues in the event of an accident. I trusted that guidance and chose the comprehensive insurance package.
During the rental, I accidentally backed into a barrier at night, causing minor damage to the left side of the vehicle. I attempted to contact Sixt but found no WhatsApp support, only an email option—which went unanswered. When I returned the car, I was shocked to hear that the insurance would only be valid if a police report was filed, something that wasn’t clearly explained beforehand. Since no other vehicle was involved, calling the police made no sense in this situation.
Despite paying for full coverage, I was charged €2350 for a small dent. This is unacceptable. Sixt should not ignore their own insurance terms and penalize customers for minor, self-reported incidents when proper coverage was purchased in good faith.
Sixt, I demand a full review of this charge and a proper resolution. You must honor the insurance package I paid for and stop shifting the burden onto customers due to vague or hidden conditions.
