On June 2025, I opened a store on Shopee and started receiving orders. Everything went smoothly at first. I shipped my products and successfully withdrew around $150 from my account. Later, I received a larger order, fulfilled it properly, and expected to withdraw my new earnings.
However, despite having $10,400 in my Shopee account now, I cannot access my money. Shopee suddenly requested a $686 tax payment to process my withdrawal. This tax demand was not mentioned during the store registration process, nor was it communicated before I made these sales.
I am experiencing serious financial stress because this was my working capital. I used my savings and business resources to deliver these products, expecting fair and transparent payment terms. Now I feel trapped and deceived.
I explicitly request the immediate release of my $10,400 earnings without paying this unclear and sudden tax charge. If taxes are indeed required, they should have been deducted automatically from sales, not imposed later without prior warning.
