American Tourister Suitcase Coating Peeling—Denied Service at Viaport Samsonite
Around four years ago, I purchased two American Tourister cabin-sized suitcases from the Viaport Samsonite store—one for myself and one for my mother. Despite being rarely used (I’ve used mine a maximum of 7-8 times, and my mother even less), both suitcases have started peeling at the PU-coated seams, exposing the inner lining.
When I brought this issue to the Viaport Samsonite store, the staff refused to assist me, claiming it was due to user error. However, looking at online complaints, it’s clear that many other customers have experienced the same PU coating issue. This suggests a manufacturing defect, not improper use.
If this issue is not resolved, I will escalate my complaint directly to Samsonite International S.A., highlighting the unprofessional behavior of their distributor. I expect a proper response and a solution—whether a replacement or repair. Has anyone else had this issue? I won’t let this go unanswered!
