Salomon Declined to Acknowledge the Boots that Experienced Damage after Getting Wet

On November 18, 2023, I purchased a pair of Salomon boots from the Viaport SPX company. I bought them not for myself but for my 9-year-old nephew. We tried the boots on in the store in the evening due to cold and rainy weather. Witnessing my nephew's joy and excitement initially made me happy, especially when he humorously remarked, "Uncle, these are expensive!" However, he later appreciated the warmth and comfort of the boots, saying they were indeed nice. The next day after leaving the boots at his house, my sister called to inform me about some unraveling in the shoes. Despite the rain, I advised her to let him wear them temporarily and assured her that we would exchange them at the store over the weekend, given the product warranty. However, when we went to the store, they stated that they could only send the worn item for inspection and repair. To my surprise, they insisted that the damage occurred while the product was in my possession, denying any manufacturing defects. This situation has left me feeling embarrassed about the gift I bought. It's disheartening to realize that what I perceived as a premium brand and store turned out to be a mere façade, especially considering the high cost of the item.
