Protherm Boiler Stopped Working After 9 Years and Service Did Not Help
The Protherm brand boiler we bought nine years ago apparently only has a lifespan of nine years. Despite having a maintenance contract every year, the boiler started having issues after nine years. They claimed that the water coming into the boiler was under high pressure, even though there was a pressure reducer installed on the water meter. They told us to call a plumber to reduce the pressure. When we set the pressure to their recommended level, the hot water from the boiler stopped working entirely. Both the service company T***** K******** and DemirDöküm operate with an outdated approach. I requested a service appointment on Thursday, asking for the technician to come on Saturday. They refused to create the appointment and only promised to call before coming. In a city like Istanbul, where plans need to be made, how can anyone be expected to wait around without a set time? It is 2025, and we do not even have hot water to shower at home. My advice to anyone considering this brand or service is simple: Do. Not. Buy. If a boiler’s lifespan is only nine years, the problem starts at the very beginning. And when the service and company act on their own terms without helping you, there is nothing left to say.
