Preply Teachers Canceled or Didn’t Show Up, No Lesson Provided
On January 9, 2025, I purchased a video-based language lesson through the Preply app and paid approximately €6.5 by card. The app claims to provide language instruction through video calls, but my experience was the exact opposite.
First, I scheduled lessons with two different teachers, and both canceled at the last minute, each giving various excuses. I then agreed on a lesson time with a third teacher, but when the scheduled time arrived, the teacher never joined the lesson. I waited until 2:00 AM, yet the lesson never took place.
I tried to report these issues through the app, leave a negative review, and submit a complaint, but the system kept giving errors and my messages could not be sent. Not only was I unable to take the lesson, but I also couldn’t submit my complaint through the platform.
I request that the €6.5 I paid for a lesson I never received be refunded to my card as soon as possible. Otherwise, I want to state that I will report this issue to all relevant authorities, including CİMER.
