Concerning our request to cancel a flight with Pegasus Airlines, I am writing to voice my sadness with the company's response. Flight 26V3UM from Istanbul to Adana was booked well before the recent earthquake. Unfortunately, the earthquake has made us feel unsafe in the area, so we have asked for a refund and cancellation. I was hoping to get a refund from Pegasus Airlines, but they would only help me rebook my flight until March 31. They have even implied that our safety is not in question by saying there is a statistically insignificant chance of another earthquake occurring on the day of our flight. The airline is acting irresponsibly and exploitatively. I also wonder if this response is legal, given the three-month state of emergency that has been declared. Pegasus Airlines seems more concerned with preserving their bottom line than with their passengers' well-being and contentment. We will be compelled to take additional action, including bringing this matter to the attention of CIMER and the Consumer Arbitration Board, if we do not receive an immediate cancellation and refund. Our sincere desire is that Pegasus Airlines will give this issue their full attention and promptly offer a solution that meets everyone's needs.
