PDFSmart Refund Request

I accessed the PDFSMART website via a Google link and on 17 March 2026 I made what I understood to be a one‑time payment for 7 days’ access to their service, using the email address mike.h***[email protected]. This payment is shown on my receipt as Invoice: fz6U8uemGc. At the end of this 7‑day period, on 24/25 March 2026, I was unexpectedly charged a further £49.99 for a month’s access, shown as Invoice no: lpuUcsFILF dated 24 March 2026, even though I did not knowingly agree to any ongoing subscription. When I noticed this charge on my bank account, I immediately contacted my bank and requested that a stop be put on any further payments to PDFSMART to prevent additional unwanted charges. I then contacted PDFSMART and requested a refund of the £49.99, as I had only intended to make a one‑off payment for 7 days’ use and was not aware that it would turn into a recurring monthly payment. Their response was very slow, and when they finally replied they refused to refund the amount, stating only that the charge was in their terms and conditions. I find it unacceptable that a supposed one‑time 7‑day access results in an automatic £49.99 monthly charge without my clear and informed consent, and that my refund request has been refused so bluntly. I request a full refund of the £49.99 taken on 24/25 March 2026, written confirmation that my account and any subscription have been cancelled, and assurance that no further charges will ever be taken from my payment method in the future.
