I own a 2022 Opel Corsa 1.2 Elegance (purchased in December 2022), and I’ve been experiencing recurring issues with the multimedia screen. Initially, the screen frequently went black, leaving the rear camera and navigation unusable—only the radio functioned while the screen remained blank. Restarting the car sometimes brought the screen back, but the problem persisted.
I reported this to the service center, and they installed a software update, which reduced the frequency of the issue but didn’t eliminate it. Now, the screen still blacks out about 3-4 times per month. Most recently, during an inconvenient moment, the screen failed, forcing me to use my phone for navigation.
When I raised the issue again, Opel suggested removing my multimedia unit for further inspection, leaving me to use my car without a functioning unit. Despite being under warranty, Opel refuses to replace or provide a temporary unit.
This treatment feels dismissive and substandard, particularly when I compare it to the service European customers receive. Additionally, the automatic transmission’s start-stop system and jerky performance in traffic further diminish my satisfaction. I no longer recommend Opel automatic vehicles and will advise anyone considering them to think twice. Opel must resolve these recurring issues and offer a permanent solution.
