I purchased a pair of Nike Vapor cleats for my son approximately 6 months ago. Despite using them only on artificial turf and indoor fields, several of the studs broke or fell off. When I sent the cleats in for inspection, Nike replied that the issue was due to user error. This is unacceptable. I have personally used the same model for 4 years with no problems. I weigh 75 kg—my son weighs only 35 kg. How is this considered misuse?
In addition, I bought a pair of Nike Phantom cleats from Kurtköy Viaport just last month. I tested them for only 10–15 minutes on a clean surface, but they were tight, so I requested a return or exchange. My request was denied, with the claim that I had worn them. The truth is, that pair was the last one on the shelf and had clearly been tried on by others, which I explained. The minor dirt on the studs was already present due to repeated in-store try-ons, not outdoor use. Still, the store manager refused to accept this and blamed me.
Nike’s rigid and unsympathetic customer service has been disappointing. I’ve returned used items to other brands with zero issues, but Nike refused both an exchange and a refund for an item I barely tried and another that failed under normal use. Despite years of brand loyalty, this will be my last Nike purchase.
I formally request:
A full refund or replacement for the defective Nike Vapor cleats
Acceptance of the Nike Phantom cleats return, which were not used beyond a brief indoor try-on.
