Mavi Jeans Faded Under Normal Use but Quality Team Rejected My Claim

On May 7, 2024, I purchased a pair of jeans from the Mavi store at Batman Park Shopping Mall — product code M0042426976032, model James Shaded Ink Mavi Jet Black, size 32–30. Since the day I purchased the product, there has been clearly visible color fading and discoloration in multiple areas of the jeans.

Because of this issue, I went to the Batman Park AVM Mavi store and requested that the product be inspected and replaced. On Friday, January 9, I was informed that the Mavi quality inspection team had reviewed the product and found no color fading or discoloration, and that my request was therefore rejected.

Although I was notified that my request was rejected following a “quality team inspection,” no concrete, clear, or satisfactory explanation was provided regarding which technical criteria were used or why the request was denied. Given the obvious color fading and uneven discoloration in different areas of the jeans, I am not convinced how this conclusion was reached or on what basis.

Under the provisions of Law No. 6502 on the Protection of Consumers regarding defective products, I believe that color fading occurring under normal conditions of use should clearly be considered a manufacturing defect. The fact that the product cannot properly fulfill its intended purpose in this condition has caused me to suffer as a consumer.

I do not accept the company’s one-sided and unjustified rejection. Therefore, while reserving all my legal rights, I request that my demand for a refund or product replacement be reconsidered. Otherwise, I hereby inform you that I will take this matter to the Consumer Arbitration Committee and the relevant authorities.
