Marks & Spencer Denied My Return After Pants Developed Fabric Holes

On July 15, I purchased a pair of pants from the Marks & Spencer Akasya Mall store using my credit card and paid approximately $51 for the product. After purchasing the item, we had the pant legs shortened. Some time after this alteration, we noticed that there were holes in the fabric of the pants. The amount was converted using the current TRY/USD exchange rate and rounded to the nearest whole dollar.

Today, I took the product to the Marks & Spencer Bursa Marka Mall store and explained the issue. However, the store informed me that they could not accept a return because the pant-leg alteration had been performed and that they could not take responsibility for a product that had been modified. Despite this, they photographed the product and sent it for inspection, and I am currently waiting for their response.

I believe the fabric defect is unrelated to the pant-leg shortening process and that it is a manufacturing-related issue. I request that, following the inspection, the product be accepted for return or replaced with a new, defect-free item. Otherwise, I would like to state that I am considering applying to the Consumer Arbitration Committee to protect my rights as a consumer.
