MAC Cosmetics Denied Requests to Match Prices
I recently purchased a product from MAC Cosmetics, only to receive a message two days later about a 30% discount at MAC. Feeling unjustly treated, as I hadn't even opened or used the product, I visited the Armada MAC store to request a refund or exchange in light of the ongoing discount. To my surprise, they informed me that returns or exchanges for unopened products were not possible, citing a policy that MAC never engages in such transactions. Apparently, they consider themselves above Turkish Consumer Rights laws, creating rules specific to MAC.
Congratulations to the company for losing a 15-year customer, and I sincerely hope they continue in this manner to lose even more customers.
Dear Customer, In accordance with the provisions of the Law No. 6502 on the Protection of Consumers, cosmetic products cannot be exchanged or returned due to hygiene conditions, except for defective products. The provisions may differ for online shopping as per the distance sales contract. The mentioned law is available in writing on your invoice and at the checkout points in our stores. In the event that the product is defective, you can contact our Customer Communication Center for detailed information regarding the consumer's right to a refund or replacement of the product. Sincerely.
It is really hard to understand how an unopened product could cause a hygiene problem! Petty calculations made to avoid giving a 30% discount do not suit a corporate company at all. Indeed, knowing basic arithmetic is enough to calculate that losing a customer could lead to greater financial losses. You can be sure that I will spread my dissatisfaction to other customers as much as I can.
