Delayed SunExpress Flight Causes Missed Connection and Lost Luggage on Lufthansa Journey
My American boyfriend's Lufthansa flight from Ankara Esenboğa to Munich to Washington DC (Dulles) was significantly impacted due to delays. The first flight with SunExpress, scheduled for 8:00 AM, was initially delayed to 5:45 PM and then to 7:00 PM. As a result, he missed his connecting flight. Lufthansa did not compensate him for the missed connection, leaving him stranded at Munich Airport, where he had to purchase a new ticket. Additionally, SunExpress lost his luggage. He has lost time, money, and his belongings. We have been unable to resolve this issue through customer service, the website, or email. We request the following:
Compensation for the missed connecting flight under EU Regulation 261/2004.
Reimbursement for the cost of the new ticket to Dulles.
Compensation for the lost luggage under the Montreal Convention.
Reimbursement for additional expenses (meals, accommodation, transportation, etc.).
Compensation for potential earnings lost during the two days he was unable to work.
