LOT Polish Airlines Charged Extra Fee Despite Baggage Being Under Weight Limit
We traveled with LOT Polish Airlines carrying two small suitcases with a combined weight that did not exceed 23 kg. Despite this, the staff member insisted that we had to pay a penalty and demanded 30 Euro. After some back-and-forth, they reduced the amount to approximately $53. We struggled for about 40 minutes just trying to find this money. This cannot be a reasonable rule—everyone calculates baggage by total weight. If that were the case, we could have wrapped our two medium suitcases together with plastic and avoided this issue entirely, which shows how illogical this situation was. What makes it even more unfair is that passengers after us were allowed to pass through with two or three suitcases without paying anything at all. This inconsistency and injustice are unacceptable, and we are requesting a refund of the money we were forced to pay.
