I Paid €40 Extra on Air Montenegro for Just 3 kg Overweight Despite Shared Luggage

I recently flew with Air Montenegro and had an extremely frustrating experience regarding their excess baggage policy. My family—my spouse, our children, and I—had only one shared suitcase weighing 26 kg total. Despite the fact that the combined limit per person is 23 kg, they charged us €40 for being just 3 kg over, even though international standards often allow up to 32 kg per item.

What’s worse is that they didn’t consider we had just one bag for all of us. Instead, they insisted that each individual must have their own separate 23 kg bag. That’s neither family-friendly nor logical. We weren’t given any flexibility despite traveling with kids and clearly not abusing the baggage system.

To me, this feels like a targeted way to exploit travelers, especially Turkish passengers. It’s not just inconvenient—it’s financially unfair. Even at the border, they charged us €1 per person to enter the country, which adds to the overall feeling of being taken advantage of.

I strongly urge Air Montenegro to reconsider their baggage policy or at least offer flexibility for families traveling together. I also request a refund of the €40 I was forced to pay for a few extra kilos shared in a single suitcase.
