LG Refrigerator Service Excessive Fees for Minor Issues
In 2016, I purchased an LG fridge-freezer model GC-B559PLCZ. When the freezer stopped working, I contacted Canakkale's only authorized service. The service was launched on May 10, 2023. Without even touching a screw or opening the fridge, they claimed the system was oiled and the motor needed to be replaced. LG would provide the motor for free, but shipping would cost around 7500 Turkish liras, with no guarantee on the work. They proposed that if the LG-recommended fridge costs 40,000 TL, they could apply a discount and sell it for 30,000 TL. I've already spent 37,500 TL on a refrigerator. It's been difficult for me because everything in my freezer has spoiled, including my baby's breast milk. Who will make up for my anguish? Do we complain about the 500 TL service charge for doing nothing, or do we blame LG for demanding 7500 TL to replace a motor that is guaranteed for 10 years, or being forced to buy another fridge from them? Although my washing and dishwashing machines are LG, I will not be inviting LG into my home again.
