LG GC-B559PLCZ Refrigerator Freezer Stopped Working
In 2016, we purchased our refrigerator (model LG GC-B559PLCZ), and its freezer stopped working. We called the only official service in Çanakkale. The service came on 05/10/2023. Without any disassembly, not even opening the refrigerator lid, the technician said he had flushed the system with oil and that the motor needed to be replaced. He mentioned that the motor would be provided free of charge by LG, but the delivery cost would be around 7,500 ₺, and he did not provide a warranty for the work performed. He also claimed that, while there is a 90% chance of this happening, LG would not leave you without assistance and would offer a replacement refrigerator. For instance, if a new refrigerator costs 40,000 ₺, they would provide you with a discount, and you could purchase it for 30,000 ₺. I initially had 37,500 ₺ budgeted for a new refrigerator, and I faced difficulties due to the breakdown, loss of products in the freezer, including frozen reserves of breast milk for my child. Who will compensate for my losses? Should I regret that the service charged 500 ₺ without doing anything, or that the LG company, which sold a product with a 10-year motor warranty, demands 7,500 liras for its replacement, or that we are compelled to buy a second refrigerator from them? I also have a washing machine and dishwasher from LG, but after this incident, I will no longer purchase products from this company for my home.
