I Bought La Roche-Posay Cleanser From Sachane and It Smells Like Mothballs

I purchased the La Roche-Posay cleansing gel and intentionally chose the smaller size to try it first. Unfortunately, the moment I opened the bottle, I was hit with a terrible smell—like mothballs (naphthalene). It’s extremely unpleasant and nothing like what I expected from a brand marketed as gentle and suitable for sensitive skin.

What’s even more confusing is that I bought it from Sachane, a seller known for offering genuine products. So now I’m left wondering—is this product even authentic, or is something wrong with the batch I received? I checked the reviews before buying and saw no complaints about the scent, which makes me even more suspicious. If others aren’t experiencing this, then clearly the product I got is not right.

Whether it’s expired, poorly stored, or simply defective, I need the product to be investigated immediately. I’m completely dissatisfied with this purchase and won’t use something that smells this harsh on my face. I expect La Roche-Posay and Sachane to take this issue seriously and either offer an explanation, a refund, or a replacement. I paid good ₺ for a trusted skincare product—not for something that smells like a chemical closet.
