İş Bankası Made Me Spend ₺4000 Just to Withdraw ₺6000 After My Mother Passed
Regarding Türkiye İş Bankası: After my mother’s passing, I prepared all the necessary documents to collect the money deposited by SSK. I obtained the inheritance certificate and the “no tax debt” statement, for which I had to pay ₺308. Every document (for the banks) came with a similar absurd requirement: the death certificate — how could I even obtain an inheritance certificate without the death happening? There are two heirs, A**** and myself. I also got a power of attorney from my sister, the other heir, which cost ₺2,000, to handle everything. Anyway, the bank asked for the documents to release the money, but for some reason, they wanted a copy of the power of attorney as well. Why? They already have the original in hand, so why do they need a “certified true copy” document to scan it? I paid ₺1,777 for that, and they also required a photo of my sister, which cost me another ₺200. Altogether, I spent ₺1,977. A**** and I ended up spending almost ₺4,000 just to withdraw ₺6,000. I consider the certified copy an unnecessary expense and request a refund for the amount I paid.
"No response at all, an indifferent bank!"
