Refund Request Due to Defective IKEA Product

On February 17, 2024, I purchased a Hjalpa from the Turkey IKEA store. Despite being covered by a 2-year warranty, the upper part of the furniture collapsed after 1 year of use, causing significant damage to my home and posing a serious safety risk. I assembled the product strictly according to IKEA’s installation instructions, but this incident clearly indicates a manufacturing or design defect. Since the product is still under warranty, I request a full refund. According to the Consumer Protection Law No. 6502, consumers have the right to request a refund, replacement, or free repair in the case of a defective product. Additionally, under the Turkish Code of Obligations, I reserve my legal right to claim compensation for any damages caused by the defective product. If I do not receive a response and resolution within 7 days, I will proceed with filing a complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Committee or the Consumer Court. I have attached the invoice and photos documenting the damage and kindly request a prompt resolution to this matter. I look forward to your response. Best regards.
