Hyundai Bayon Damaged at Authorized Service During Maintenance

Hyundai Bayon Damaged at Authorized Service During Maintenance

I left my Hyundai Bayon at Hyundai Turkuaz Plaza Denizli, an authorized service center, at around 8:30 a.m. on September 19, 2026, for routine maintenance and received the vehicle back at around 3:40 p.m. the same day. When I took delivery of the vehicle, I noticed that the trim on the door section had lifted and was peeling. The service staff stated that this might have happened during pressure washing because the vehicle had been sent for washing. When I asked what could be done to repair the damage, they could not provide a clear answer. They only took a photo, said they would consult someone, and told me they might get back to me the following week, while also suggesting that the damage probably would not be covered under warranty. However, they did not clearly explain what solution they were considering.

I find it unacceptable that a vehicle was returned from an authorized service center in this condition and that, even after the problem was identified immediately upon delivery, I was not given clear information about how it would be resolved. In addition, I reported that one of the bolts securing the aftermarket side step, which I had paid to have installed at the dealership when I purchased my vehicle in 2024, had been removed because the step was scraping the underside of the vehicle. Five of the six bolts are still intact, and only one requires a minor repair involving a small amount of welding and installation of a new bolt. Despite this, instead of offering a simple and economical repair, the service immediately mentioned replacing the entire side step and appeared to use this as a way to avoid addressing the issue.

I choose authorized service centers because I want my vehicle to remain original and I want peace of mind, and for this reason I pay almost twice as much as I would at an independent repair shop. However, the approach I encountered made me feel that the priority is to charge as much as possible for every service rather than actually solving the customer's problem.

I request that the damage to the door trim that occurred while my vehicle was under the responsibility of the authorized service center be repaired free of charge and that the side step issue be resolved without causing me any additional expense and in a way that addresses the problem properly. I also expect a clear written explanation of the work to be performed and the applicable warranty coverage. I kindly request that my complaint be thoroughly investigated and that the inconvenience I have experienced be properly addressed.
