I purchased a Huawei MateBook D 16 laptop and have been using it for about a year. In December 2024, I noticed cracks forming on the upper edges of the screen frame on both sides. Concerned whether this was a manufacturing defect, I contacted Huawei customer support and sent photos via email. They directed me to send the laptop for service.
The service center confirmed that there was no impact or customer-related damage, yet they refused warranty coverage, calling it an out-of-warranty issue. After I protested, they agreed to replace it for free. However, just ten days later, the new screen frame developed cracks in the same spots. When I reached out again, they admitted it could be a chronic issue and asked me to send it back for another repair.
After the second service visit, despite no drops or impact, they again denied warranty coverage. While one customer service rep acknowledged it might be a manufacturing defect, another later implied that I might have applied unseen pressure to cause the cracks.
This seems like a design flaw, yet Huawei refuses to take responsibility. Potential buyers, beware!
