Hotels.com Reservation Cancellation and Customer Support Dissatisfaction

Hello, we made a reservation for A**** O** through Hotels on July 22. We were informed that our reservation would be canceled because it did not appear at the hotel and was subsequently reserved by someone else. If we had followed the specified dates and they had charged us, we would have faced significant inconvenience upon arrival. Despite making the reservation first, we are the ones being penalized instead of those who booked later. Instead of being constructive, they expect us to call them. Their only suggestion was to move from room to room.
Contacting Hotels is incredibly difficult; when you call the customer service number, it feels like explaining my issue to my 2-year-old nephew, and unfortunately, there is no one to address my concerns. We have not canceled the reservation yet because the solution to such a grievance cannot be for us to give up.
